Saiful/Bouquet, Inc. (SBI) was founded in 1997 by Saiful Islam, S.E., Ph.D. and Tom Bouquet, S.E.. Since its inception in 1997, the firm has been and continues to be one of the fastest growing consulting firms in California, dedicated exclusively to structural engineering. SB has a staff of approximately 60 with more than 36 engineers. Most of our staff have advanced degrees.


SBI has grown to be a firm of the highest caliber with a broad, diverse structural engineering practice, successfully combined with high-tech seismic expertise and fundamental production resources of a service-oriented design firm. Saiful/Bouquet has attracted a highly qualified group of professionals with a consistent commitment to teamwork, quality and client service. During our extensive practice, Saiful/Bouquet has designed a portfolio of structures of almost every type and occupancy. In this short period of time, Saiful/Bouquet has been awarded multiple design excellence awards, which includes the Structural Engineers association of Southern California's (SEAOSC) Most Outstanding Design Award.


SBI's success has been based on its extensive background in earthquake engineering, the specialized skills of its staff, with a common design philosophy and project approach. The design of each project evolves throughout a very intensive brainstorming session by several Principals & Senior Structural Engineers. Typically, multiple schemes are developed and discussed with the Owner or Architect, presented in ample detail to aid in selecting the best system. Structural system selection is seldom based on structural cost alone. Seismic performance, architectural flexibility, construction duration, overall building cost and many other considerations are factored into the selection, based on a careful review of the project's specific constraints and requirements.
